Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons
Escadrilles canadiennes de plaisance

Mentored Courses

When you register for a course by Mentor you will receive a printed copy of the course notes and any other materials that you require, and you will be assigned a tutor from your area who will answer your questions, mark your homework, and arrange for an examination at the end of your course.

If you are out of the country or in some part of Canada where there is no local squadron, we will provide support via email.

There is a great deal of support available from your local squadron members who really enjoy sharing their experiences - both good and bad!

To see if there is a squadron near you, you can look on  our National Website

Self Study

If you prefer to study on your own, you may purchase the required course materials and apply to your local squadron for examination when you are ready. If you live in an area where there are no local squadrons, then we gladly make other arrangements. Local squadrons can be found on our National Website

The disadvantage, of  course is that you will have no support but some people prefer to learn that way. It can be the best way for people who have awkward schedules.

Once you start a course, you should try to finish it within the time allotted for that course.

On-Line

The Maritime Radio Course is available online through Sheridan College. The first course will start May 11, 2007 then be available continuously after that. To register, sign in at Sheridan College.
